How old does my dog have to be to train at
FlashPaws?
In our beginner classes, we accept puppies four months of age and older. In private
lessons, we accept them as young as seven weeks old. The young mind of a puppy is ripe for
learning, and early experience on low, safe, equipment can provide invaluable imprinting
while building the puppys confidence. Puppies bodies, however, are fragile
until they have reached physical maturity (usually about 12 - 15 months of age),
therefore, great care is taken to prevent any possibility of injury or strain. Can I participate if my dog is aggressive toward other dogs or people?
Not at FlashPaws. Safety is our utmost concern. We cannot risk injury to our students
and/or their dogs by allowing dogs in class with aggression problems. If our instructors
feel that a dog is a threat to the safety of others, he will be asked to leave.
Can children train at FlashPaws?
FlashPaws accepts children 15 years of age and older. Our instructors specialize in
training adults, and as such, the instructional pace can be brisk. We have found that
children need a slower instructional pace than adults. Children are much better off
training with a 4-H group or with a club that offers classes specifically for children.

How do I get involved?
Because of the popularity of our classes and the limited class size to ensure quality
instruction, there is often a waiting list to attend our classes particularly at
the advanced levels. Once people are accepted into the Advanced training program, there is
very little turnover. We like to attribute this to the quality of training provided, along
with the camaraderie and friendships that students develop in our classes. Spaces do
become available, however, and you may find it worth the wait to join us.
We generally hold Beginner and Intermediate classes twice each year.
If you are interested in enrolling in one of these classes, call, fax, or E-Mail us to be
placed on a mailing list for a course enrollment application when it becomes available.
These classes typically fill long before the starting date so it is wise to enroll early
to ensure a place in class.
